Drake – The Motto Featuring Lil Wayne & Tyga (Official Video)

Video Inside…..

Drake’s New video featuring Lil Wayne and Tyga is a different taste of his contribution to hip hop. The Bay area is known for being the home of the hyphy movement which was a movement pioneered by Mac Dre and several others such as TooShort, Keak Da Sneak, and  E-40 which he is at the side of the Canadian rapper in some segments of the video. Drake is showing tribute and respect for an artist from the Bay Area, Andre Hicks that went by the stage name of Mac Dre that passed away of a gun shot wound back in 2004.    The music video begins with Andre Hicks mother giving a few words of dedication to her son, “So Andre you wanted me to be a strong black woman, If you could see me now sitting here in front of this camera and the people that are in the room…you would be very proud. So, this is just the beggining and I’m still here and as long as I’m here you’ll be here…so dont worry about it I GOT THIS!”

Could this mean future bay area music inspired by Mac Dre, remember she said this is just the beggining and as we all know once Drake and Lil Wayne are in the picture we can always expect grand things from the Young Money camp.

Here is a Mac Dre for those who do not know who he was and his Hyphy movement:
